Williston, ND- Western Area Builders Association (WABA) is excited to announce a Parade of Homes event scheduled for Saturday, September 28, 11a-6p.
The Parade of Homes is an opportunity for builders with local projects to showcase their work and for the public to see new design trends and unique details each builder might feature. New homes or other residential construction projects that meet the Parade of Homes criteria can be registered on the WABA website and shown on September 28. While builders pay a fee to have their projects included on the route, this event will be free and open to the public for viewing. The registration deadline for builders is August 31.
“Four different categories are available,” commented WABA board president Thomas Freeman. “We would love to see wide participation from our builder community. This is a unique opportunity for them to demonstrate what they can do. There are some really great houses being constructed right now.”
Categories include New Home, Remodel, Kitchen and Outdoor Living. Homes can be entered in more than one category. A panel of qualified judges will score the entries, and the public will vote on a People’s Choice winner in each category. New Home entries do not need to be completely finished but will be required to pass a safety inspection to participate. Owner-completed projects in the Outdoor Living category are welcome!
An event map and details about each entry will be available in September. Projects can be registered on the WABA website at https://westernndbuilders.com. Special registration pricing is available to WABA members for the Parade of Homes.

Western Area Builders Association (WABA) is pleased to announce the June completion of a WABA Giving Back project in Williston, ND.
WABA’s Giving Back program uses the collective resources of WABA members and other businesses to assist a local resident with a significant construction project at their personal residence. In this case, a home in the downtown area was in desperate need of a new roof.
“The projects we undertake usually come to our attention because a structure has become unsafe,” commented WABA President Tom Freeman “and we also evaluate situations based on an individual’s need and personal circumstances.” Materials were donated by Wegner Roofing & Solar, Windsong Custom Homes and Builders FirstSource. Williston Roofing provided all the labor to replace the roof. The estimated value of the project is $17,900.
Projects are proposed and selected by WABA’s board of directors and then work is coordinated with members who can offer supplies or skilled labor to complete construction. Examples of some past projects include stabilizing an unattached garage and making a deck handicap accessible.
If you are interested in becoming a WABA member, please get in touch.
